Don't miss WAFFLE WEDNESDAYS
in the Lyngblomsten Community Center!
(lower level of the chapel at Lyngblomsten -- 1415 Almond Ave., St. Paul)
From 9:00 - 10:30 AM on Wednesdays, everyone from the community is invited to enjoy a cup of coffee and piping hot, freshly made waffles with a variety of toppings.  $3 per person.

“Donut” Make You Wonder? presents:  “Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease…Taking the Journey with Them”
10—11 AM at the 5-5-1 Club.  Do you know someone with memory loss?  At this presentation, learn ways to communicate more meaningfully with them.  A $1 donation is appreciated.  No registration necessary.  Call (651) 632-5335 for more info.

Volunteer Appreciation Event “Cheers to Our Volunteers”
6:30–8 PM in the Newman-Benson Chapel at Lyngblomsten.  Invitations will be mailed.


Tuesday, May 6
Volunteer Driver’s Training
6:30—8:30 PM at the 5-5-1 Club.  This training is open to anyone over 18 who is interested in learning to effectively and safely transport persons with special needs.  Topics covered include:  proper body mechanics, safe wheelchair transfers, etc.  FREE for members of Lyngblomsten’s corporate congregations.  Cost for others:  $10/person (or $25 for a group of 3 or more).  Register by April 28 to dseverson@lyngblomsten.org or (651) 632-5330.  Hosted by Lyngblomsten’s Home- & Community-Based Services.

Lyngblomsten Corporate Annual Meeting
6 PM (Dinner) & 7 PM (Meeting).  This meeting is for ALL delegates from corporate congregations.  Details to be mailed.


Thursday, May 8
5-5-1 Club Outing:  McHatties Victorian Times Tea House 
11:30 AM—3:30 PM.  McHatties is an 1850s Victorian home nestled in the Woodbury countryside with a wonderful ambience and beautifully prepared food—a perfect outing to take that special lady in your life in honor of Mother’s Day!  Cost is $39, including transportation.  Call (651) 632-5330 for reservations.

Lyngblomsten Auxiliary General Meeting
1:30 PM—Meeting; 2 PM—Entertainment in the Newman-Benson Chapel at Lyngblomsten.  After the brief meeting, all are invited to attend the entertainment featuring “Kitchen Kut-Ups.”

Syttende Mai (Norway’s Independence Day) FREE Concert
2 PM in the Newman-Benson Chapel at Lyngblomsten.  Help Lyngblomsten celebrate its Norwegian roots by attending a FREE concert by the Nordcap Choir in honor of Syttende Mai.

All Aboard! Ambassador Training for Lyngblomsten Volunteers
From time to time, volunteers likely find themselves faced with the question, "What is Lyngblomsten?"  To make it easier to briefly explain with Lyngblomsten is ALL about while telling the full story of how we serve older adults and their families, come and experience All Aboard! Explore Lyngblomsten's mission through our four principles, the "on-the-spot" talk, the GLAD steps, and more.  Be touched by the heartwarming stories highlighted on our new DVD (which includes interviews with volunteers).
