Senior Ministry Resources for Churches
Lyngblomsten is committed to serving older adults, including those who are still living independently in their own homes and apartments. Many of those folks are connected with a faith community. We believe that providing for the needs of older adults is a task that is inherent in the mission of the Church and clearly expressed in Lyngblomsten's own mission:
Influenced by Christ, Lyngblomsten provides a ministry of compassionate care and
innovative services to older adults in order to preserve and enhance their quality of life.
More than just providing for the needs of older congregants, we encourage conversations about how to truly engage seniors in the life of the church.
Lyngblomsten works with Christian congregations, primarily across the Twin Cities, to collaborate and strengthen each other's Senior/Older Adult Ministries. Our focus is on providing resources to enhance senior ministry, such as our annual Senior Ministry Conference, lay visitation training, and Speakers Bureau.
We believe that senior ministry should be for, to, and with older adults—actively engaging them in the process, not just providing services to them. We also believe that a robust senior ministry includes the traditional social components as well as wellness and supportive service components, along with opportunities to engage in service and to continue growing in one’s faith.
