Lyngblomsten Services and Events Affected by COVID-19 Precautionary Measures
Like many organizations around the state of Minnesota and the world, health and safety guidelines issued by government agencies require us to cancel or modify events and services we provide in order to prevent the further spread of Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19).
Below is a list of events and services that have been impacted by COVID-19 precautions and social distancing guidelines.
2nd Half with Lyngblomsten continues to offer programs, resources, and support to older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic, albeit in a modified form. Following recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and other federal and state agencies, we’ve shifted to offering our programs virtually via online gatherings, telephone calls, and email. No in-person opportunities are being offered at this time (this includes The Gathering group respite program).
Visit our catalog to learn about and sign up for online opportunities that will have you engaging, discovering, and thriving in the second half of life from the comfort of your own home! Opportunities include discussion groups, Armchair Traveler and Author! Author! presentations, exercise classes, and more!
Our staff continue to provide support and resources to family and friends who are helping an older adult or a person with memory loss through our Caregiver Services. These services include telephone support and education, caregiver coaching, support groups, our new Group eRespite program, and more. For more information, visit our Caregiver Resources & Support page, or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651.632.5320. We’re here to help.
Anna’s café and gift shop is operating during limited hours until further notice. The hours are 10:30 AM to 1:20 PM during the week (Monday through Friday). The café and gift shop will be closed on the weekend. At this time, there is no salad bar available but daily specials and quick cook items are still offered.
Activities offered to the public on our campus are canceled indefinitely, effective March 11. This includes:
- Worship services in the Newman-Benson Chapel (Sunday ecumenical service, Wednesday Rosary and Mass, quarterly memorial service, funerals)
- Concerts and other group gatherings hosted in the Newman-Benson Chapel
- Wings of Nutrition program offering free bread on Tuesday mornings
- Free popcorn offered in the Lyngblomsten Care Center lobby on Thursday afternoons
Changes or cancellations of other events and services will be listed here as they are determined. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
