Our Mission

Influenced by Christ, Lyngblomsten provides a ministry of compassionate care and innovative services to older adults in order to preserve and enhance their quality of life.

Lyngblomsten is a Christian nonprofit social ministry organization affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America providing quality care to seniors of all faiths and cultures through its healthcare and housing facilities as well as through its community-based outreach programs for seniors living in their own homes or apartments.  We are partnered in ministry with 31 Minneapolis/St. Paul-area congregations.

Lyngblomsten's continuing care campus, located near Como Park Zoo, offers multiple levels of housing and healthcare services with lifestyle choices.  These include:

• A community center, the 5-5-1 Club & Café (open to the public)
• A market-rate apartment building with assisted living services available
• A HUD202/Section 8 subsidized apartment building with assisted living services available
• A 24-hour skilled nursing home for transitional/short-term care and long-term care as well as dementia/Alzheimer's program options
• The offices for the Home- and Community-Based Services programs:
  • Care Team Ministry
  • Community Wellness and Education
  • Parish Nurse Ministry
  • The Gathering
  • 5-5-1 Club & Café

Off campus, Lyngblomsten owns and manages Superior Street Cottages in the historic West 7th St. neighborhood in St. Paul.  The cottages offer market-rate and subsidized one-level rental living for seniors.

Lyngblomsten is blessed with more than 800 active volunteers of all ages plus the Lyngblomsten Auxiliary.  There are many opportunities for church and corporate groups to get involved in service or sponsorships.   The Lyngblomsten Foundation raises money to support Lyngblomsten programs.

With the community, for the community, we work side by side to help older adults live life fully engaged.
