Renovation of Courtyard on Lyngblomsten's Como Park Campus is Happening this Summer!

Update 5/23/25: The courtyard renovation was speeding along until this week brought delays.  First the rain paused construction.  Then when work resumed, water lines were accidentally hit while digging footings for new lights.  While those repairs will postpone that particular work and impact other components, work will continue on whatever isn’t affected by the water line issue.  This morning, for example, workers were taking advantage of the drier weather, as you can see from today's photos.  There’s never a dull moment during construction!

Update 5/13/25: At the end of Day 7, workers have completed removal of plants and structures in the courtyard in preparation for grading, placement of footings, and electrical wiring.

UPDATE 5/5/25:  Yesterday with its blue skies and warm sunshine was an ideal day for crews from Bauer Design Build LLC to begin work renovating the central courtyard of our Como Park campus. Anticipated to be complete by summer’s end, the renovation project will bring a number of repairs and new amenities (including an outdoor pavilion and grilling station) to the space, ensuring it remains a sought-after destination for years to come for all those who live, work, volunteer, or visit our campus!

As one of the lead donors to the project, campus resident June Husom helped kick off construction along with Lyngblomsten President and CEO Jeff Heinecke and Lyngblomsten Foundation Executive Director Tim Overweg. We're so grateful to all donors who gave to our Grounds for Joy! campaign which made this renovation possible!
