Respite Care

Family caregivers sometimes need out-of-home care for an older adult they are assisting. Those looking for a quality respite care option in the northeast Metro can turn to Lyngblomsten, a senior services provider with campuses in Lino Lakes and Como Park. This temporary care allows family caregivers to take an extended break (or respite) from their caregiving responsibilities.

During a participant’s stay at our senior living campus in Lino Lakes, our staff of nurses, resident assistants, and life enrichment coordinators will ensure each participant’s health and personal care needs are met, while also providing them with nutritious meals and opportunities to socialize and engage with others at art activities, games, concerts, movies, and other campus programs.

Accommodations:

• Respite is offered at the Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes campus
• Those receiving care will reside in a furnished Assisted Living or Memory Care apartment (comes with a bed, recliner, dresser, linens, towels, and soap).

Timeframe:

• Respite is offered based on room availability.
• Minimum stay is 10 days, maximum stay is 30 days. (For respite lasting longer than 30 days, please contact Deb Bland, our Marketing Director.)

Admissions Process:

• Participants must be 62 years or older.
• Participants must complete pre-admission paperwork (including a doctor's order) and have an assessment completed with a Lyngblomsten nurse.
• Because of these requirements, our overnight respite typically cannot be offered for emergency situations or with short notice. Caregivers are encouraged to allot at least two weeks for completing all pre-admission requirements before their requested respite dates.
