Announcement: Construction in the care center to continue

Update Regarding Construction in the Lyngblomsten Care Center during COVID-19 Restrictions

After consulting with the Minnesota Department of Health’s Infection Control Assessment and Response Program (ICAR), it was determined that renovation could safely resume if construction workers could be isolated from residents.

A plan has been devised that makes it possible to isolate construction workers from residents.  This will be accomplished through the use of temporary walls within the work areas.  Construction workers will enter and exit the building through one designated door that is within the sealed walled-off work areas.

Therefore, construction is anticipated to resume within the next few days.

It’s important to resume construction to reduce the time that residents are in temporary rooms.  Because the temporary walls will isolate construction workers from residents, there is no additional risk to residents’ health.  Further, it’s a small way to help our extended community by keeping these construction workers employed and providing for their families during these uncertain times.

Our residents’ health and safety is our number-one priority, and we’ve been able to address that and continue construction.
